RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Thomas James Anderson

Upon his retirement after 32 years with the

Daly City Police Department

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Thomas James Anderson joined the Daly City Police Department on October 17, 1977, and graduated in January 1978 from the Basic Police Academy at Santa Rosa Community College; and

   

WHEREAS, Tom served as a patrol officer for six years, and became a Station Supervisor in November 1983; from March 1984 until his retirement, Tom served as the Police Lab and Evidence Technician; and

   

WHEREAS, over the decades, Tom received 51 unit commendations and letters of praise and appreciation from other agencies and the public, plus five Departmental Commendations, including one in March 1983 for his role in the arrest and investigation of an armed robbery suspect; and

   

WHEREAS, Tom’s professionalism, knowledge of the law, compassion and proficiency in police photography, fingerprint analysis and the collection of complex evidence have earned respect and admiration from peers and superiors alike, and brought honor to his uniform and badge.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Thomas James Anderson upon his retirement from the Daly City Police Department after 32 years of dedicated service. The Board hereby extends sincere wishes to Tom and his family for luck in all future endeavors, plus many more years of continuous peace and happiness.
