BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (A) THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH APPLIED SURVEY RESEARCH (ASR) TO IMPLEMENT AND MAINTAIN DATA COLLECTION FOR THE JUVENILE PROBATION AND CAMPS FUNDING (JPCF) PROGRAMS, FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2008, TO OCTOBER 31, 2011, IN THE AMOUNT OF $135,000; AND B)THE CHIEF OF PROBATION DEPARTMENT OR THE CHIEF’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with ASR for the purpose of implementing and maintaining data collection for the Juvenile Probation and Camps Funding (JPCF) Programs; and

 

WHEREAS, JPCF Program is the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program that began in 1997. Counties use federal dollars to fund these programs across the continuum of options, from prevention/early intervention through custody and over 80,000 at-risk youth received TANF services in 2003-04. A large number of youths were served in juvenile halls, camps and ranches; and

 

WHEREAS, the term of this Agreement is July 1, 2008 through October 31, 2011 with a total obligation not to exceed $135,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said Agreement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

A. The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

C. The Chief of Probation Department or the Chief’s designee is authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
