RESOLUTION: A) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS NO. ES-0809-08 (EMPLOYMENT STIMULUS) FOR THE TERM APRIL 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,416 AND NS-0809-08 (NUTRITION STIMULUS) FOR THE TERM APRIL 1, 2009 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2010, IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,847 WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF AGING FOR AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 FUNDING FOR THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT TITLE V AND TITLE III C FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $242,263; AND B) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE FUNDING AMOUNT BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board has designated itself as the Area Agency on Aging of San Mateo County to carry out programs supporting senior services; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance two Agreements, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Aging and Adult Services Division shall provide Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) and Congregate Nutrition Program services; and

 

WHEREAS, on February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for the provision of Employment and Nutrition Stimulus funds to support Title V SCSEP and Title III C Elderly Nutrition Program services for seniors in order maintain health, independence and quality of life; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into the Agreements to support and enhance the SCSEP services for the period of April 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, in the amount of $41,416 and Congregate Nutrition Program services for the period of April 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010, in the amount of $200,847 for a total obligation of $242,263; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has examined both Agreements and has approved them as to both form and content.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreements with the California Department of Aging for ARRA funds for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or designee be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the funding amount by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
