RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA VICTIM COMPENSATION AND GOVERNMENT CLAIMS BOARD FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE RESTITUTION PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $78,011 FOR FY 2009-2010

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board has agreed to fund positions in District Attorney’s Offices throughout the State of California to ensure that restitution fines and court orders are properly administered in accordance with applicable statutes; and

WHEREAS, in 1997, the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board submitted a contract to the San Mateo County District Attorney to establish a Restitution Program to be administered by the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board and said contract was approved by Resolution No. 61670 and has been renewed by this Board every year since that time; and

WHEREAS, the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board and the San Mateo County District Attorney desire to renew said contract for the FY 2009-2010 and to continue the Restitution Program for such time period through funds made available through the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the District Attorney of the County of San Mateo, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, is authorized to submit this contract to the State of California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, and is authorized to execute the Contract including any extensions or amendments thereof.
