BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, SITTING AS THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION

(1) AUTHORIZING AND INSTRUCTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR PUBLIC HOUSING OPERATING SUBSIDY IN THE AMOUNT OF $427,216 TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2009, AND
(2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PROCESS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, sitting as the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority owns and operates two public housing developments known as Midway Village and El Camino Village; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) makes available to qualifying housing authorities annual operating subsidy for public housing developments based upon a formula designed to partially reimburse housing authorities for utility and other operating expenses not covered by unit rental income; and

WHEREAS, the calculations according to the HUD formula substantiates an allocation for Calendar Year 2009 in the amount of $427,216; and

WHEREAS, HUD regulations require that the Housing Authority receive Board approval to submit an application for Public Housing Operating Subsidy; and

WHEREAS, this Board desires that the Public Housing Operating Subsidy for Calendar Year 2009 be applied for and received.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of the Department of Housing is authorized and instructed to submit an application for Public Housing Operating Subsidy in the amount of $427,216 to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for Calendar Year 2009 and to execute any documents required to complete the application process.
