RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR, UPON APPROVAL BY COUNTY COUNSEL, TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT EXTENDING THE CURRENT AGREEMENT WITH MANAGED HEALTH NETWORK FOR SIX MONTHS UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2009 AND INCREASING THE CONTRACT BY $72,880 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $410,000, AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County’s current agreement with Managed Health Network expires on June 30, 2009; and;

 

WHEREAS, the County has not conducted a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process in over five years;

 

WHEREAS, the County desires to amend the agreement with Managed Health Network for six months until December 31, 2009 to enable the County to complete an RFP process to ensure that the County is receiving the best plan benefits currently available in the marketplace;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the Human Resources Director, upon approval by County Counsel, to execute an amendment extending the current agreement with Managed Health Network for six months until December 31, 2009 and increasing the contract by $72,880 for a total contract amount of $410,000;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the Human Resources Director or the Director's designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
