RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY’S ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $323,894 AND IN-KIND GIFTS IN THE AMOUNT OF

$38,800 FOR FY 2008-09 FROM THE SAN MATEO COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation has raised $323,894 in donations in FY 2008-09 to be used for the Parks Volunteer Program, tractor equipment, the County’s Department of Public Works “Request for Bids” documents for the Bill and Jean Lane Education Center at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve, improvements at the Coyote Point Recreation Area, trail maintenance at Wunderlich Park, permit fees for the Coyote Point Recreation Area Promenade Permanent Repair Project, and contract mowing of invasive plants at the Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve; and

WHEREAS, the Foundation has made in-kind gifts in the amount of $38,800 in FY 2008-09 with $6,800 specifically for habitat restoration at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve and $32,000 specifically to finalize designs for the Bill and Jean Lane Education Center at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby authorizes the County’s acceptance of donations in the amount of $323,894 and in-kind gifts in the amount of $38,800 for FY 2008-09 from the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation.
