BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION:

1.

AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 TO THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS PART OF THE OIL SPILL RESPONSE EQUIPMENT GRANT AGREEMENT; AND

2.

AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF OR SHERIFF’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS AND/OR MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000, AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has been awarded federal funding through the California Department of Fish and Game; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has awarded these grant funds to the County of San Mateo to supplement oil spill response within the region; and

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services has been designated to serve as the local fiscal agent of the Oil Spill Response Equipment Grant Agreement; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo is one of the regional partners selected to receive a portion of the funding from the Oil Spill Response Equipment Grant; and

WHEREAS, as part of the grant requirements, the County of San Mateo must enter into an Agreement and approve the Grant Assurances with the California Department of Fish and Game to receive a grant award, in the amount of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000); and

WHEREAS, the money has been designated to fund the build out of an Oil Spill Response Equipment Trailer to enhance local and regional response to oil spill incidents in alignment with the San Francisco Bay Area Contingency Plan; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement, and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT THE:

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with the California Department of Fish and Game, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

2.

Sheriff or Sheriff’s designee is hereby authorized to execute amendments and minor modifications to this Agreement not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000, and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
