RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

ATRIA BURLINGAME

LIFE GUIDANCE MEMORY CARE NEIGHBORHOOD

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, on June 18, 2009, Atria Burlingame is opening a new Life Guidance Memory Care Neighborhood, a dementia care unit within the Atria Senior Living Community in Burlingame; and

   

WHEREAS, Atria invested nearly $2 million to build the new dementia care unit and to make extensive renovations to the first floor common spaces in the Burlingame building as part of Atria’s continuing commitment to invest in its communities and the programs and services it offers to help residents enjoy a high quality lifestyle and create even better working environments for its employees; and

   

WHEREAS, Atria has been a leader in the senior living industry for more than 10 years and provides residential services for close to 13,000 seniors across the nation, and in California alone has 25 communities, employs more than 1,400 people and is home to approximately 2,500 California seniors; and

   

WHEREAS, Atria is committed to hiring, training and retaining the most caring and dedicated professionals in the industry, and has invested significant time and resources to upgrade and renovate its communities across the country, even in a tumultuous economic environment.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on June 18, 2009, hereby congratulates Atria Burlingame on the opening of its new Life Guidance Memory Care Neighborhood, and commends Atria for its continued commitment to invest in facilities and services that benefit its residents.
