BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH JOBTRAIN, INC. (JOBTRAIN) TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE YEAR-ROUND AND SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SERVICES. THE TERM REMAINS THE SAME, JULY 1, 2007 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $587,048 TO $1,484,618, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, The Workforce Investment Board determined the need for youth academic and employment programs for youth who qualify for services under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA); and

 

WHEREAS, May 22, 2007 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 068732 authorizing an Agreement with JobTrain, Inc in the amount of $897,570 for a three year term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010 to provide comprehensive year round youth employment services; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution 068732 also authorized the Human Services Agency Director or Designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

 
 

WHEREAS, on July 10, 2008 the Human Services Director executed the First Amendment to the Agreement for the purpose of changing the allocation per fiscal year of the Agreement and the amount remained $897,570; and

 

WHEREAS, this Second Amendment shows a change in the funding allocation for FY 2008-09 from $299,190 to $498,390 (amount of $199,190 transferred from FY 2009-10) and the addition of $587,048 to FY 2009-10 of which $301,048 is WIA Youth Funds for the year-round program and $286,000 is American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds for the summer youth employment program, for a total obligation of $1,484,618; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Second Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
