RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
|
Kerri Martinez
Center Director, “Our Place” County Child Care Center
|

WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ has been Center Director at “Our Place” County Child Care Center in Redwood City for the past nine years; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ is passionate in providing the highest-quality child care and early childhood education for County employees and the community and has twice overseen the rigorous process for NAEYC accreditation of the Center; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ has capably managed a dedicated, passionate staff of thirty, and created a work environment that encourages professionalism, growth and diversity by modeling herself as a high standard of professionalism, expertise, passion, and work ethic; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ has collaborated with County officials and managers in creating and sustaining a family-friendly workplace that includes working through difficult scheduling needs, providing training classes for new parents, establishing enrichment classes for the students, and sponsoring community events; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ has contributed to the local community through her volunteer work with the Bright Space project in creating safe play spaces for homeless children, along with other community service projects; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, KERRI MARTINEZ has built a trust and reputation for “Our Place” County Child Care Center where parents feel secure, comforted and safe when leaving their children with teachers, even for the very first time.
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on August 14, 2009, hereby commends KERRI MARTINEZ on her fifteen years of service, which started as substitute teacher in 1993, and on her exemplary work as Center Director of “Our Place” County Child Care Center from 2000 to August 2009, and wishes her well in her new responsibilities with Bright Horizons.
