RECOMMENDATION:
|
The Board of Supervisors should follow the recommendation of the Fatherhood Collaborative and approve the appointment of Laura Walker as a member of the Collaborative, for a two-year term expiring on September 30, 2011.

BACKGROUND:
|
Laura Walker is currently the Executive Director of the Child Care Coordinating Council. She would be filling one of three vacancies on the Fatherhood Collaborative Board.
|
|
|
DISCUSSION:
|
Laura Walker is known to the Board of Supervisors in her position with the Child Care Coordinating Council. She has said that her experience professionally and personally would help the Fatherhood Collaborative achieve its goal of reaching fathers in the community from all economic backgrounds.
