RESOLUTION AUTHORZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE DATA SYSTEMS GROUP (DSG) TO PROVIDE THE COUNTY WITH SERVICES FOR SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE, UPGRADES, AND SUPPORT, INCREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY UP TO $92,753.65 FOR A NEW TOTAL MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION. OF $340,295.97 AND EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010.

WHEREAS, on June 19, 2007, the County of San Mateo entered into an Agreement with The Data Systems Group (DSG) to provide the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) with services related to insurance claims editor software, product customization, and support and training for electronic remittance advices, in an amount of $222,542.32 for the term of July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2009;
WHEREAS, on June 10, 2009, the Information Services Chief Information Officer/Director approved Amendment No. 1 to execute minor modifications to the Agreement, adding $25,000 for a new total maximum obligation of $247,542.32 and extending the term end date to September 30, 2009;
WHEREAS, the DSG insurance claims management system is currently in maintenance mode and interfaces with SMMC’s patient registration and billing system (Invision), and critical maintenance and support to this system is required to ensure SMMC provides fiscal accountability in keeping with insurance billing compliance;

WHEREAS, this Board having considered the matter has determined that it would be in the best interest of the County to approve Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with DSG to increase the contract amount by up to $92,753.65 for a new total maximum fiscal obligation of $340,295.97 and extend the term end date to June 30, 2010; and
WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Amendment, has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment as is approved by the County Counsel for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
