RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
|
|
|
PATRICIA REALINI
AS MILLBRAE
2009 WOMAN OF THE YEAR
|

|
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that PATRICIA REALINI is being honored at Millbrae’s 2009 Millbrae Man & Woman of the Year Awards Dinner for outstanding voluntary service to the community; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, one of PATRICIA REALINI’S first volunteer projects after moving to Millbrae in 1961 was joining Starbright Chapter of Millbrae, an auxiliary of Children’s Home Society of California, where she has volunteered for 45 years, participated in fundraising projects and served as president for both the Millbrae Chapter and the Coast Counties Council of Children’s Home Society, which includes chapters from Los Gatos, Pacifica, San Francisco and eight chapters of San Mateo County; and
|

|
|
WHEREAS, PATRICIA REALINI worked tirelessly with the Inter Country Adoption Agency under the Children’s Home Society, and later under the Sisters of Mercy Burlingame, providing critical care for babies coming through the San Francisco International Airport, was a volunteer at Agnew State Hospital for the mentally ill and developmentally challenged for 30 years, currently serves on the St. Dunstan’s Parish Council, was president of St. Dunstan’s Woman’s Club, founded theLydians widows club 18 years ago, and has been a volunteer at the Primrose House in Burlingame benefiting Catholic Charities in San Mateo County for 30 years; and

|
WHEREAS, PATRICIA REALINI is the chairperson of the Senior Advisory Board at the Millbrae Community Center, a docent and volunteer at the Millbrae Museum, a member of Julie’s Support Group for parents of developmentally challenged children and is a much appreciated supporter of the Friends of the Library, the Millbrae Historical Society, and many other Millbrae organizations; and
|

|
|
WHEREAS, PATRICIA REALINI is a tireless, generous and creative woman who selflessly works to help those in need and has been a valued and dedicated community volunteer for decades.
|
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on this 9th day of October, two thousand and nine, hereby honors and commends PATRICIA REALINI as Millbrae’s 2009 Woman of the Year for her outstanding volunteer service. The citizens of Millbrae and San Mateo County have greatly benefited from the efforts of PATRICIA REALINI. The Board of Supervisors extends its heartfelt appreciation and congratulations.
