BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR A FLUORESCENT LAMP RECYCLING PROGRAM EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2010 AND INCREACING THE AMOUNT BY $40,000 TO A NEW TOTAL OF $90,000 AND; 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR THE CHIEF’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE MINOR AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENT.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company would like to partner again with the County of San Mateo in a pilot Fluorescent Lamp Recycling Program which would include an outreach campaign focusing on messages of environmental protection and collection of fluorescent lamps; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo desires to continue to work with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company to develop and implement a public awareness advertising campaign and to promote collection opportunities for residential customers; and

 

WHEREAS, Pacific Gas and Electric Company has offered an additional $40,000 to its original grant of $50,000 to the County to support the pilot Fluorescent Lamp Recycling Program and this Board desires to accept said amendment to the grant; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into said amendment to Agreement:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized to execute said amendment to Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of the Health System or the Chief’s designee is authorized to execute minor amendments to the grant agreement, if necessary.
