RESOLUTION COMMENDING | ||||

30 Years of Community Service to San Mateo County and the Bay Area | ||||

WHEREAS, since 1977, Kathy King has tirelessly worked to improve the financial stability of non-profit organizations serving low-income individuals and families, seniors, those with disabilities and just about everyone in-between; and | ||||
WHEREAS, except for two years in Montana, Kathy’s entire career has been with Bay Area agencies, ranging from the Pacific Institute for Community Organizations to the Agape Foundation to Catholic Charities in San Francisco as well as Oakland; and | ||||
WHEREAS, as development and stewardship director for the Diocese of Oakland, Kathy expanded the donor base from zero to 50,000 and raised $2.4 million a year; and | ||||
WHEREAS, returning to the Peninsula as executive director of the Seton Health Services Foundation, Kathy strengthened the foundation’s board to include business and community leaders; created a “friends” committee of women to anchor new events, such as the New Life Center, Hospital-a-Tea, Sipping with Seton and Let’s Have a Ball; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Kathy has nearly doubled the foundation’s revenues, and has significantly updated Seton’s donor relations through creative recognitions and the Good Stewards Society. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County commends Katherine A. King for more than three decades of selfless dedication to charitable organizations helping those who need help the most. Kathy’s efforts have touched countless thousands, improved their lives and perhaps even saved a few. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude and extends to Kathy sincere wishes for many years of continued success and excellence. | ||||
