BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF ONE NEW YIELD SIGN THAT DIRECTS TRAFFIC ON EASTBOUND “A” STREET TO YIELD TO TRAFFIC ON SOUTHBOUND REINER STREET AND WESTBOUND “A” STREET IN BROADMOOR VILLAGE, TOWN OF COLMA AREA

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21351 allows local authorities in their respective jurisdictions to install traffic signs as may be necessary to control traffic within an intersection; and

 

WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21356 allows local authorities to install yield signs at entrances to intersections or highways; and

 

WHEREAS, eastbound “A” Street in Broadmoor Village, Town of Colma Area is an unmaintained County right of way, and serves as a driveway for the San Pedro Commons Senior Community Center, and drivers exiting from "A" Street onto Reiner Street sometimes proceed without checking the traffic conditions on Reiner Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended the installation of one new yield sign to make the intersection safer for tenants of the San Pedro Commons Senior Community Center and the surrounding community as noted herein; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

1.

A Yield Sign be installed at the following locations:

 
 

“A” Street (Non-maintained County Road) at Reiner Street (County Road No. 174-A), Broadmoor Village, Town of Colma area

   

One yield sign on eastbound “A” STREET to direct traffic to yield to the traffic on southbound REINER STREET and westbound “A” STREET.
