BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISCHARGE OF ACCOUNTABILITY OF COLLECTION EFFORTS FOR THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS FROM FORMER PARTICIPANTS IN THE SHERIFF'S WORK PROGRAM (SWP) IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,280.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has delinquent accounts receivable in the amount of $5,280.00 and all reasonable effort has been made by the Sheriff's Office to collect the delinquent accounts; and

 

WHEREAS, California Government Code §§ 25257 et seq. provide for discharge of accountability for money owing to the County if the amount is too small or the likelihood of collection does not warrant the expense involved; and

 

WHEREAS, the cost of collecting these delinquent accounts has exceeded the revenue collected and any further effort to attempt collection would not be cost effective.

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT THE:

    1.

Board of Supervisors shall, and does hereby discharge the Sheriff’s Office from accountability for collection efforts of the accounts presented.; and

2.

Clerk of this Board be, and is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the County Controller.
