RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

ROCIO KIRYCZUN

2009 Women in County Government Self-Development Recognition Award

WHEREAS, ROCIO KIRYCZUN began work with the County of San Mateo as an Office Assistant in 1990 and left after three years for San Diego where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, and returned to the County in 1995 as a Family Support Technician; and

WHEREAS, ROCIO KIRYCZUN was quickly promoted to a Management Analyst position, and completed her Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on public finance and management while assigned as a budget analyst for the County Manager’s Office; and

WHEREAS, in 2005, ROCIO KIRYCZUN was promoted to a Financial Services Manager II in the Human Resources Department and then to Administrative Services Manager II and has pursued other professional opportunities to enhance her effectiveness as a manager; and

WHEREAS, selected as one of 12 managers to participate in the County’s first Executive Leadership Academy in 2008, ROCIO KIRYCZUN excelled in a very rigorous application and assessment process, enthusiastically immersing herself in the 15-month curriculum with a variety of leadership trainings, which she brought back to the organization and put to use; and

WHEREAS, ROCIO KIRYCZUN continually seeks to expand her technical knowledge of human resources through experiential learning in areas such as Risk Management, Labor Relations, Personnel and Benefits; and

WHEREAS, a valued team member, ROCIO KIRYCZUN, actively explores ways to assist her fellow managers and be a resource to support their success and whose efforts have led to the continuous improvement of Human Resources processes and policies and an expanded capacity to initiate and implement programs that advance the organization,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends ROCIO KIRYCZUN for her unflagging efforts in self-development for herself, her colleagues and staff and extends congratulations for being named the recipient of the Women in County Government 2009 Self-Development Award.
