RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

BILL DICKENSON

WHEREAS, BILL DICKENSON was first elected to the City of Belmont City Council in November of 2005 and served as Vice-Mayor in 2008; and

WHEREAS, BILL DICKENSON served on the Belmont Planning Commission prior to his election to City Council and served as President of the Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association for many years; and

WHEREAS, BILL DICKENSON served on the City/School District 2+2 Committee, the Green Advisory Committee, the Belmont-San Carlos Fire Commission, the San Mateo County Operational Committee, as Liaison to the Finance Commission, as Liaison to the Harbor Industrial Area, the Economic Development Subcommittee, the Audit Subcommittee, C/CAG and its subsidiary subcommittees, the San Francisco Airport Roundtable, the Solid Waste Subcommittee and the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance, among others; and,

WHEREAS, BILL DICKENSON was committed to a wide array of issues during his term on the Belmont City Council, including protection of neighborhoods, traffic issues, pedestrian safety, economic development, support for local businesses, public health, environmental protection, neighborhood outreach, and the initiation of the City’s green efforts; and

WHEREAS, BILL DICKENSON has consistently exhibited his dedication to the residents of Belmont and commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the City of Belmont through legislative responsibility;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends BILL DICKENSON for his many years of community service to the city of Belmont.
