RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

MARY VELLA TRESELER

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, MARY VELLA TRESELER has been Millbrae City Treasurer from 2001 to 2009 and was the first woman to hold this office; and

WHEREAS, MARY VELLA TRESELER has been dedicated to keeping the City of Millbrae financially solvent while abiding to the objectives of the City of Millbrae Investment Policy, which provides guidance to invest City of Millbrae funds in accordance with sound treasury management principles; and

WHEREAS, MARY VELLA TRESELER, prior to taking office as City Treasurer, had a distinguished 30 year career with Wells Fargo, where she handled numerous accounts worth millions of dollars; and

WHEREAS, MARY VELLA TRESELER has been dedicated to public service and activities in the City of Millbrae through her work with a variety of community groups, such as President of the Millbrae Newcomers Club, Millbrae Community Television (MCTV), Millbrae Historical Society, Soroptimist International of Millbrae-San Bruno, and Millbrae Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, MARY VELLA TRESELER, has served tirelessly on several committees and commissions, including the Community Preservation Commission, Mayor’s Civic Coordinating Council, Millbrae Man and Woman of the Year Committee, Millbrae Community Foundation, and Millbrae Representative on the San Mateo County Sesquicentennial Committee.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on December 8, 2009, hereby commends and honors MARY VELLA TRESELER for her outstanding service to the City of Millbrae as City Treasurer. The Board extends its best wishes to her and her family on their future endeavors.
