______________________________________________________________
RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
WHEREAS, the United States Census Bureau created the Partner Support Program (PSP, formerly the In-Kind program in 200), and
WHEREAS, the PSP provides critical support to local organizations tasked with reaching out to hard-to-count populations, and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau has provided no funding for outreach efforts in 2010 and suspended the program due to a lack of funding.
WHEREAS, the suspension of the PSP strains the County’s outreach budget and stands to undermine the census effort in the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by the adoption of this resolution hereby opposes the suspension of the U.S. Census Bureau’s Partner Support Program.
