RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $110,000 TO THE CALIFORNIA EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR FUNDS FOR A SPECIAL EMPHASIS PROGRAM FOR FY 2009-10 AND TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT TO RECEIVE SUCH FUNDS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, since 1990 the County of San Mateo has applied for and received funding and desires to maintain a program designated the San Mateo County Special Emphasis Program to be funded by Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) funds administered by the California Emergency Management Agency (hereafter referred to as Cal EMA) in the amount of $110,000;

 

WHEREAS, it is agreed that the State of California and Cal EMA disclaim any responsibility for any liability, arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, and that any such liability shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency;

 

WHEREAS, in order to receive the grant funds, the County must agree to the funding terms and conditions of Cal EMA, including but not limited to providing a 20% match of funds required for said project (including any extension or amendment thereof), and that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the that the District Attorney of the County of San Mateo, on behalf of the County of San Mateo, is authorized to submit a grant application to Cal EMA for renewal of its Special Emphasis Program grant, and is further authorized to execute the Grant Award Agreement including any extensions or amendments thereof which do not require commitment of County funds.
