BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION (A) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS (COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT) TO PROVIDE AFTER-SCHOOL ACADEMIC PROGRAM GRANTS, THE TERM IS EXTENDED BY 12 MONTHS TO SEPTEMBER 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2010, INCREASING THE AMOUNT TO $300,000 TO $900,000, THIS IS 100% NET COUNTY COST, (B) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY OR THE DIRECTOR'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on September 16, 2008, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 069689 authorizing an Agreement with the San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools in the amount of $600,000 for a three year term of July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2009 to provide after-school academic program grants to local school districts in San Mateo County to help fund homework tutoring centers in 65 elementary or middle schools and serve approximately 5,000 students; and

 

WHEREAS, this First Amendment increases funding by $300,000 and extends the term by 12 months to December 31, 2010 for a total obligation of $900,000 for the purpose of funding the after-school tutoring centers; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the First Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

A. The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

B. The Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee is hereby authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
