RESOLUTION AMENDING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS FEE SCHEDULE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Department of Parks desires to provide for Recreational Vehicle campsites at Coyote Point Recreational Area; and

 

WHEREAS, pricing for small and large tent and small and large trailer

campsites at Memorial Park is not differentiated during higher and lower use times of

the year; and

 

WHEREAS, picnic site usage is not differentiated during higher and lower use times of the year; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been no provision for incurred costs of the automated reservation system and staff time for making picnic and camping reservations over the telephone.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution approves amending the Department of Parks Fee Schedule as follows:

 

1)

Authorizes RV camping at Coyote Point Recreational Area at a cost of $45 per night; and

 

2)

Authorizes the Director of the Department of Parks or his designee to adjust seasonal rates annually for three of the four types of family campsites at Memorial Park during the period between the second Sunday in May through the third Sunday in October to charge $25 per night for eight-person tent sites; $30 per night for small trailer/RV sites; and $35 per night for large trailer/RV sites all of which include one vehicle per night and to charge $21 per night per all four types of campsites to include one vehicle per night per site for the period beginning the third Monday in October through the second Saturday in May each year; and

 

3)

Authorizes the Director of the Department of Parks or his designee to reduce picnic site rates by 50% during the period between the third Monday in October through the second Monday in May and revert to standard fees from the second Sunday in May through the third Sunday in October each year; and

 

4)

Authorizes the implementation of a $10 administrative fee for picnic and camping reservations made over the telephone.
