RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HELLMUTH, OBATA & KASSABAUM, INC. FOR COUNTY-WIDE SPACE UTILIZATION AND MASTER PLANNING SERVICES TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PLANNING SERVICES FOR THE SAN MATEO COUNTY MASTER PLAN, INCREASING THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY $80,500 FROM $439,000 TO $519,500

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 070359, the County entered into an Agreement dated August 25, 2009, with Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) to conduct Countywide Space Utilization and Master Planning services; and

WHEREAS, the original Agreement was based on an estimate of services to be provided; and

WHEREAS, the scope of the work required under this Agreement has subsequently increased; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the amount of the contract to complete the additional jail site scenarios at Government Center service and;

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED, that the President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute an Amendment to the Agreement with Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
