RESOLUTION APPROVING A REVISED WORK PLAN FOR UTILIZING THE 2007-08, 2007-08 SUPPLEMENTAL, AND 2008-09 APPROPRIATIONS OF PROPOSITION 1B TRANSPORTATION BOND FUNDS (F-384 [18R])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, California voters passed Proposition 1B in November 2006, which authorized the distribution of bond monies to California public agencies for the purpose of maintaining and improving the agencies’ road infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, the bond initiative requires that a local agency’s Governing Board approve a work plan for which the use of bond monies is proposed, spend the funds, and construct the improvements within three fiscal years following the allocation; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County is eligible for bond funds in the amount of $7,165,624.45, $1,558,525.74, and $1,108,347.20 from the 2007-08, 2007-08 Supplemental, and 2008-09 Appropriations of Proposition 1B Transportation Bond funds, respectively; and

WHEREAS, this Board previously adopted a work plan for each of the 2007-08, 2007-08 Supplemental, and 2008-09 Appropriations of Proposition 1B Transportation Bond funds; and

WHEREAS, this Board, on the recommendation of the Department of Public Works, desires to approve the revised work plan; and

WHEREAS, the proposed revised work plan includes a list of road projects, road maintenance activities, and other associated work, including but not limited to, pavement repair, pothole filling, crack filling, minor pavement patching, shoulder backing, sidewalk, drainage, and traffic control devices work, attached hereto as Exhibits “A”, “B” and “C”.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that said revised work plan, attached hereto as Exhibits “A”, “B” and “C”, is hereby approved as the work plan intended for construction by the Department of Public Works utilizing the County’s allocation of 2007-08, 2007-08 Supplemental, and 2008-09 Appropriations of Proposition 1B Transportation Bond funds.
