RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH POLITICAL SOLUTIONS, INC. FOR STATE ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF JANUARY 1, 2010 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2010, IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, following a request for proposals process in April 2009, the Board of Supervisors authorized the County Manager to contract with Political Solutions, Inc. for state advocacy services from May to December 2009 with an option for renewal in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Political Solutions, Inc. has served as the County’s legislative advocate for a period of eight months and the Legislative Committee has recommended renewal of their contract in 2010; and

WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interest to continue to contract with Political Solutions, Inc., for state advocacy services; and

WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a form of the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement for state legislative advocacy services with Political Solutions, Inc. for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo.
