SUBJECT:

Nomination to appoint John Marty to the San Mateo County Treasury Oversight Committee

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the nomination by the Treasurer for the appointment of John Marty to the County Treasury Oversight Committee.

BACKGROUND:

The position held by Rosalie O’Mahony, representing the San Mateo County City Treasurers and Finance Officers, is currently vacant on the County Treasury Oversight Committee. Subject to the Board of Supervisor’s confirmation and in accordance with the County Investment Policy, the County Treasurer nominates John Marty. Mr. Marty is currently the Treasurer of the City of San Bruno, appointed in 2006 and elected in November, 2009. He resides in San Bruno, currently holds Series 24, 7 and 65 security licenses and is employed at Sloan Investment Advisors in Burlingame. Mr. Marty received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and his MBA in Finance, both from the University of San Francisco.

DISCUSSION:

Approval of this nomination will contribute to the Shared Vision 2025 outcome of a Collaborative Community as our leaders forge partnerships, promote regional solutions, with informed and engaged residents, and approach issues with fiscal accountability and concern for future impacts.
