RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA

For Thirty Years of Service with the Burlingame Police Department

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA joined the Burlingame Police Department in 1978 as a Dispatcher/Clerk and has served with integrity, honor and courage for 30 years; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA, in 1979, was the first female officer hired by the Burlingame Police Department, attended the Alameda Sheriff’s Office Academy and was class valedictorian; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA became the first female K9 Handler in Northern California with her K9 partner, Ghost, and also served the department as a Field Training Officer, Court Officer and Hostage Negotiator, and helped to institute technology into the department, eventually becoming the department’s first Computer Specialist; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA has consistently performed her duties while, at the same time, sharing her wisdom, grace and work-ethic with all those who have had the pleasure to work with her.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 4, 2010, hereby commends OFFICER RONDA CAINE-ALCANTARA for her 30 years of service to the Burlingame Police Department, and extends its best wishes on her future endeavors with her husband Marc and children Amanda, Joseph and Daniel.
