RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN

For Twenty-Seven Years of Service with the Burlingame Police Department

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN joined the Burlingame Police Department in 1982 and has served our community with integrity, honor, courage and unwavering commitment; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN has served in many capacities and worked in many different assignments within the Burlingame Police Department, including Patrol Officer, K9 Officer, School Resource Officer and also filled in as Court Officer when needed; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN served as a K9 Officer for over 17 years with faithful K9 partners, Raul, Chip and Sara; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN has had several accomplishments during his years of service to the Burlingame community, including the Lion’s Service Awards 2005, Peninsula Peace Officers Association “Gus Nicolopous” Award for Commitment to the Association, is a lifelong member of the Peninsula Peace Officers Association and served as its president twice, was involved in the successful Tobacco Awareness Program while serving as the School Resource Officer, and has received over 140 thank you letters and commendations for his work.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 4, 2010, hereby commends OFFICER RICHARD HARMAN for his 27 years of service to the Burlingame Police Department, and extends its best wishes on his future endeavors with his wife Catherine, children Allison and Patrick, family, friends and relatives.
