RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

OFFICER JERRY PETERS

For Twenty Eight Years of Service with the Burlingame Police Department

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, OFFICER JERRY PETERS was hired by the City of Burlingame as a Police Officer in 1980 and was selected for the Burlingame Police Department SWAT Team in 1981, and has served the community with integrity, honor and courage; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER JERRY PETERS attended the Contra Costa Criminal Justice Police Academy, graduated number one and earned the “Outstanding Graduate” award of the 77th Academy Class and was awarded the “Law Enforcement Code of Ethics Award”; and

   

WHEREAS, OFFICER JERRY PETERS served as a Firearms instructor, became the Senior Firearms Instructor, SWAT Operator and Team Leader, was selected as a charter member of the Burlingame Police Department’s Bicycle Officer Program in 1993, received training in crowd control techniques which allowed him to return to the department and train staff in 1999, and was selected as an Acting Watch Commander in 2006.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 4, 2010, hereby commends OFFICER JERRY PETERS for her 28 years of service to the Burlingame Police Department, and extends its best wishes on her future endeavors with his family and friends.
