RESOLUTION UPON THE RETIREMENT OF | ||||
Pat Paik | ||||

WHEREAS, Pat Paik has served as Executive Director of the Pacifica Resource Center for eighteen years; and | ||||
WHEREAS, before coming to the Pacifica Resource Center, Pat Paik was a high school teacher for 9 years which included teaching a year in Germany and two years teaching immigrant children in Florida; and | ||||
WHEREAS, after Pat Paik moved to Pacifica she worked as a tobacco control coordinator for the City of Pacifica and served on the Pacifica School District Board for five years; andWHEREAS, as Executive Director of the Pacifica Resource Center, Pat Paik kept the Center financially stable during unstable times by converting it from a city agency to a non-profit center with stable funding in 2004; and WHEREAS, through her work Pat Paik was able to start many new programs at the Pacifica Resource Center including the Back to School program providing backpacks to children and holiday programs providing food and gifts to families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays; and | ||||
WHEREAS, outside of her work at the Pacifica Resource Center, Pat Paik has given back to the community in many ways including her service as President of the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County does hereby congratulate Pat Paik on her retirement and extend its best wishes to Pat on her future endeavors. Pat will always be remembered for her many contributions to the community of Pacifica and San Mateo County. | ||||
