RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING

 

Rosanne Foust

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Rosanne Foust has been named the 2009 Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year; and

   

WHEREAS, the Chairman of the Board’s Award was created in 1970 to recognize the one person who had the greatest impact on the success of the Chairman’s year, and it symbolizes the Chamber’s highest honor; and

   

WHEREAS, Rosanne Foust has served on the Chamber Board of Directors for 9 years and served as Deputy Chair for 3 years and Chair in 2003, she was Co-Chair of the 40th Annual Progress Seminar and Co-Chair of the 2009 Membership Drive; she was a 2000 graduate of Leadership Redwood City/Belmont/San Carlos and continues to mentor those who have come after her by continuing to Day Chair the Program Orientation Day; and

   

WHEREAS, Rosanne Foust has served the residents of the city of Redwood City as its Mayor and has served as the past Chair of the Redwood City Planning Commission, past President of the Redwood Shores Community Association and past President of the Redwood City Library Foundation; and

   

WHEREAS, Rosanne Foust’s vast breadth of Community Services through the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, through the Chair of the San Mateo County Transportation Authority, through the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority among many other volunteer activities is commendable and has made San Mateo County a better place to live.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County does hereby recognize the efforts of Rosanne Foust on behalf of the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce upon being named the 2009 Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year.
