RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING

 

Melanie Rogers

WHEREAS, Melanie Rogers has been named the 2009 Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year; and

   

WHEREAS, Melanie Rogers, with 25 years of experience in HR and Operations Management, is a highly regarded businesswoman in the community and serves as Director of Human Resources, Associate Principal, DES Architects + Engineers in Redwood City; and

   

WHEREAS, Melanie Rogers is currently serving as Chairman of the Peninsula Stroke Association, and is an active member of the Northern California Human Resources Association and the EDD Advisory Council in addition to previously serving as Board President of the Sutter Health Hospice Foundation; and

WHEREAS, while Melanie Rogers is a highly successful Human Resources Director here in San Mateo County, she acts as a mentor to all human resources employees through her contributions to the Zweig-White HR Newsletter and speaking at the 2009 National Conference in Chicago; and

   

WHEREAS, Melanie Rogers’ service to the community through her volunteer work and through the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce and through her tireless work as a human resources director in San Mateo county is commendable and has made San Mateo County a better place to live for everyone.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County does hereby recognize the efforts of Melanie Rogers on behalf of the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce upon being named the 2009 Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year.
