Appointments to the Commission on the Status of Women

RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint Ligia Andrade, Maria Fernandez, Carrie Gann and Gianna Driver to the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Commission on the Status of Women currently has four vacancies on its 17-member board. The four recommended appointees would each be four four-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2013.

 

DISCUSSION:

Ligia Andrade is a resident of San Mateo and works in a legal office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human services and master’s degree in public administration.

Maria Fernandez is a resident of Menlo Park and is a policy and program manager at Stanford University. She holds an international relations bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree in education.

Carrie Gann is a resident of Redwood City and works in the health insurance field. She holds bachelor’s degree in English, with a concentration in gender studies.

Gianna Driver is a resident of Redwood City and is CEO of her own company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business, with a concentration in management and entrepreneurship.

Each would be a great addition to the Commission on the Status of Women.
