RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTROLLER TO CONTINUE PAYMENTS ON THE HEALTH SYSTEM COMMUNITY HEALTH STD/HIV PROGRAM AGREEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD OF MARCH 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Agreements with the AIDS Community Research Consortium, Family and Children Services, the Harm Reduction Therapy Center and Mental Health Association of San Mateo County will expire on February 28, 2010, and renewal Agreements have not been completed due to delays in the federal budget process; and

WHEREAS, the Controller does not have the authority to make payments to these contractors between the expiration date and time of completion of the Agreements; and

WHEREAS, this Board wishes to continue payments through June 30, 2010 pending execution of new Agreements at the following rates: $33,333 for the AIDS Community Research Consortium, $5,000 for Family and Children Services, $26,667 for the Harm Reduction Therapy Center and $33,390 for the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County, for a total of $98,390.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board authorizes the Controller to continue payments through June 30, 2010 on said Agreements for and on behalf of the County, subject to the contractors’ continued compliance with all terms and conditions of the most recent and previous Agreements with the County.
