RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO ACCEPT AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA) GRANT FROM EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (EDD) IN THE AMOUNT OF $936,429 AND THE TERM OF JULY 8, 2009 TO MARCH 31, 2011 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PILOTING AND ADMINISTERING A GREEN JOBS CORP IN SAN MATEO COUNTY, THE COUNTY IS THE CONTRACTOR FOR THIS ARRA AGREEMENT, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) has been awarded grant monies from the EDD in the amount of $936,429 in ARRA funds for the Green Jobs Corps; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo is the fiscal agent of the WIB; and

WHEREAS, the Green Jobs Corps program will prepare and train 150 at risk youth for careers in emerging green industries; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:
The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to accept this funding for an on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest that President’s signature thereto.
