| Fiona Kathleen Murphy | ||||
| Upon Her Induction Into The | ||||
| San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame as a Young Woman of Excellence | ||||

| WHEREAS, Fiona Kathleen Murphy is a natural leader, who – even as a high school student – has demonstrated a talent for organizing people and managing group dynamics via respect and example; and | ||||
| WHEREAS, through her church, Fiona’s strengths truly emerged on a summer trip with the Center for Youth Development’s Young Neighbors in Action program to help low-income individuals and families in the areas around Yakima, Washington; and | ||||
| WHEREAS, during this trip, Fiona rose above the confusion and chaos, took charge of her peers and helped the groups stay on task and maintain focus; and | ||||
| WHEREAS, Fiona’s willingness to hold herself as her strongest critic sets an example for her peers as well as adults to admire and emulate; her generosity with herself and her personal resources to benefit others speaks to a future where she will continue to be an active member of her community – wherever that community might be. | ||||
| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Fiona Kathleen Murphy upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame as a Young Woman of Excellence. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude to Fiona and adds sincere wishes for continued success in all future endeavors. | ||||
