RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING

Fiona Kathleen Murphy

Upon Her Induction Into The

San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame

as a Young Woman of Excellence

WHEREAS, Fiona Kathleen Murphy is a natural leader, who – even as a high school student – has demonstrated a talent for organizing people and managing group dynamics via respect and example; and

WHEREAS, through her church, Fiona’s strengths truly emerged on a summer trip with the Center for Youth Development’s Young Neighbors in Action program to help low-income individuals and families in the areas around Yakima, Washington; and

WHEREAS, during this trip, Fiona rose above the confusion and chaos, took charge of her peers and helped the groups stay on task and maintain focus; and

WHEREAS, Fiona’s willingness to hold herself as her strongest critic sets an example for her peers as well as adults to admire and emulate; her generosity with herself and her personal resources to benefit others speaks to a future where she will continue to be an active member of her community – wherever that community might be.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Fiona Kathleen Murphy upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame as a Young Woman of Excellence. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude to Fiona and adds sincere wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
