RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ELECTIONS OFFICER TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES FOR THE MENLO PARK CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION AND THE PORTOLA VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 4, 2010; BOTH ELECTIONS ARE TO BE CONDUCTED ENTIRELY BY MAIL BALLOT.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Board Members of the Menlo Park City School District adopted Resolution No. 09.10.20 calling for a special election entirely by mail to be held on May 4, 2010, for the purpose of submitting a special parcel tax measure to the voters and requesting the Board of Supervisors to authorize the County’s Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services to the District relating to said special election; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Board Members of the Portola Valley Elementary School District adopted Resolution No. 5-2010 calling for a special election entirely by mail to be held on May 4, 2010, for the purpose of submitting a special parcel tax measure to the voters and requesting the Board of Supervisors to authorize the County’s Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services to the District relating to said special election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing said election services; and

 

WHEREAS, in consideration of the services and supplies to be provided by the Chief Elections Officer in conducting said elections, the Menlo Park City School District and the Portola Valley Elementary School District have entered into separate agreements to reimburse the County for the costs of said services and supplies;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Chief Elections Officer is authorized to render the specified election services for the May 4, 2010 Menlo Park City School District Special Election and the Portola Valley Elementary School District Special Election.
