______________________________________________________________

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on March 13, 2007, the Purchasing Agent approved an Agreement whereby the County of San Mateo participated with Contra Costa County Health Services and San Joaquin County Health Services (collectively, the “Owners”), in a Regional Health Care Interpreter Network (HCIN); and

WHEREAS, the Owners selected Contra Costa Regional Health Foundation (Contra Costa) to serve as the Executive Administrator for HCIN to administer the automated processes for the provision of voice and video medical interpretation on a regional basis; and

WHEREAS, on December 9, 2008, the parties amended the Agreement to extend the term to June 30, 2009, and increase the maximum amount payable under the Agreement by $50,000, from $80,000 to $130,000; and

WHEREAS, in April 2009 Contra Costa Regional Health Foundation ceased to be the Executive Administrator for HCIN and the Contractor therefore seeks authority to assign the Agreement to HCIN; and

WHEREAS, additional unanticipated expenses for HCIN services were incurred by the County due to the resignation of a County employed interpreter and the decision not to fill that position; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreement to authorize its assignment to HCIN and increase the maximum amount payable thereunder by $55,000 to $185,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Amendment, has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into it.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
