RESOLUTION: 1) WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS REQUIREMENT FOR SECOND CHANCE RE-ENTRY SERVICES; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SHELTER NETWORK TO INCORPORATE A RE-ENTRY SYSTEM TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM AMONG COUNTY JAIL INMATES, INCREASING THE MAXIMUM OBLIGATION BY $84,000, FOR A NEW MAXIMUM OF $209,000, AND EXTENDING THE TERM TO JANUARY 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on February 10, 2009, the parties hereto under Agreement 61000-09-C215 entered into an Agreement, (the “Original Agreement”), for the furnishing of alcohol and drug services by Contractor to County as set forth in that Agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, on June 16, 2009, under Resolution 070209 the Original Agreement was amended to increase funding in the amount of $72,500, for a new maximum obligation of $125,000, and to extend the term to January 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, it is now necessary and the mutual desire and intent of the parties to increase the funding by $84,000, for a new maximum obligation of $209,000, for San Mateo County Second Chance Act Re-entry services, and extend the term to January 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011.

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a Second Amendment to an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Shelter Network shall provide alcohol and drug services; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals process for the selection of a provider of Re-entry Services.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County requirement for Second Chance Re-entry Services for said Agreement is hereby waived.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
