RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH YOUTH AND FAMILY ENRICHMENT SERVICES (YFES) TO PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM PLUS (THP-PLUS), EXTENDING THE TERM BY ONE (1) YEAR TO JUNE 30, 2011, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $253,800 TO $754,650, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, In October 2007, the County of San Mateo purchased a Triplex Facility for transitional housing to house former foster youth; and

 

WHEREAS, On June 24, 2008 by Resolution 069536 the County entered into Agreement with YFES in the amount of $247,050 for the term of June 25, 2008 through June 30, 2009 to provide the Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP+) for a total of eight (8) youth at the County’s Triplex facility and one (1) youth at the Daybreak Facility; and

 

WHEREAS, On June 23, 2009 by Resolution Number 070249 the County entered into an Amendment to the Agreement to discontinue services at the Daybreak facility due to new state THP+ regulations and further extended the term by one (1) year to June 30, 2010 and increased the amount by $253,800 for a total obligation of $500,850 to continue THP+ services at the Triplex Facility; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to enter into a Second Amendment to the Agreement by extending the term by one (1) year to June 30, 2011 and increase the amount by $253,800 for a total obligation of $754,650 to continue THP-Plus services at the County’s Triplex Facility while the Human Services Agency determines whether or not funding will be available to sustain the program for future years; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Second Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
