RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING

Jeri Fujimoto

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Jeri Fujimoto is retiring after 32 years of service to the City of San Carlos and its Department of Parks and Recreation; and

WHEREAS, Jeri Fujimoto began her career as a Recreation Coordinator working with the San Carlos Special Needs Program and then became the first Youth Development Supervisor for the City overseeing vision, fundraising and building of the San Carlos Youth Center; and

WHEREAS, Jeri Fujimoto has been successful in developing and nurturing partnerships throughout her career in San Carlos and this skill has led to many great programs in the city such as the Wrap Around Program, a healthy snacks program and an outdoor walking path; and

WHEREAS, outside of the San Carlos Parks and Recreation Department, Jeri Fujimoto has taken great pride in her community by serving on the San Mateo County Youth Obesity Taskforce, as Rotary President and as an advisor to the Intergovernmental Management Training Program; and

WHEREAS, Jeri Fujimoto’s commitment to youth is unparalleled and her work as a champion for youth and youth initiatives has made a significant positive impact on young people in San Carlos.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County does hereby congratulate Jeri Fujimoto on her 32 years of service with the City of San Carlos Parks and Recreation Department, and extends its best wishes to her in the coming years.
