RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING | ||||
ED LEA 2010 SAN MATEO COUNTY FARMER OF THE YEAR | ||||

WHEREAS, Ed Lea was born in Moss Beach and after growing up in Moss Beach, graduated from Half Moon Bay High School; and | ||||
WHEREAS, following high school, Mr. Lea joined the United States Navy to support his country during World War II and served on the USS Pennsylvania in the Pacific; and | ||||
WHEREAS, following his tenure in the Navy, Ed Lea returned to the Coastside and began farming, eventually partnering with Bruno and Guido Santini to form Cabrillo Farms; and WHEREAS, following the retirement of Bruno and Guido Santini, Ed was able to partner with his son David Lea to operate Cabrillo Farms; and WHEREAS, has given back to the Coastside community through his work with the Cabrillo Unified School District where he has served two terms; and | ||||
WHEREAS, David Lea has also shown a devotion to farming as well through serving on the San Mateo County Farm Bureau. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County does hereby recognize and congratulate Ed Lea on his hard work and the success of his farming business, and gives its thanks to his commitment to the community and Coastside farming. | ||||
