Appointments to the Commission on Aging

RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint Appollonia Dee Uhila, Evelyn Tom, Megan DePuy, Nathaniel Fripp, Katie Eiseman and Carol Denehy to the San Mateo County Commission on Aging.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Commission on Aging currently has eight vacancies on its 21-member board. The six recommended appointees would each be for three-year terms ending June 30, 2013.

 

DISCUSSION:

Appollonia Dee Uhila is a resident of East Palo Alto and works as a mental health caregiver for family members.

 

Evelyn L. Tom is a resident of South San Francisco and is a retired postal worker. She holds Bachelor of Science degree in General Computer Science.

 

Megan DuPuy is a resident of San Mateo and works as a speech therapist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management.

 

Nathaniel Fripp is a resident of Redwood City and is Executive Director of Woodside Terrace. He holds a Master of Social Work degree and a Master of Public Health degree and a Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly certification.

 

Katie Eiseman is a resident of Burlingame. She is Vice President and Director for Quality Assurance for her family-owned business. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Gerontology and a Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Administrator’s certification.

 

Carol Denehy lives in San Mateo. She is a retired social worker and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.

 

Each would be a great addition to the Commission on Aging.
