SUBJECT:

Agreement with Department of Rehabilitation (State Agreement 27771)

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a Resolution authorizing:

   

A.

The President of the Board to execute a Revenue Agreement with the California Department of Rehabilitation for training and employment services for mental health consumers. The term is July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013, for the amount of $2,672,775. There is no Net County Cost; and

   

B.

The Director of the Human Services Agency (HSA) or the Director’s designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.

 

BACKGROUND:

Since 2002 the County of San Mateo and the Department of Rehabilitation have worked together to provide situation assessment, work adjustment, employment preparation, job development and placement services for San Mateo County Mental Health consumers.

 

DISCUSSION:

This Agreement with the Department of Rehabilitation appropriates funds from the State to the County for FY 2010 through FY 2013 so that services to San Mateo County residents can continue under the Mental Health Coop Program

 

County Counsel has reviewed the Agreement and Resolution as to form and the Department of Rehabilitation has been provided with the County’s certificate of insurance. The County is the Contractor for this Agreement.

 
 

Approval of this Agreement contributes to the Shared Vision 2025 outcome of a Prosperous Community by providing rehabilitation employment and training services to individuals searching for gainful employment and reaching self-sufficiency.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The term of the Agreement is July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.  The total amount of $2,672,775 will be allocated equally in the amount of $890,925 for each of the three years.  Revenue will be included in the FY 2010-11 through FY 2012-13 Recommended Budgets.  There is no Net County Cost.
