Reappointments to the Assessment Appeals Board

RECOMMENDATION:

A)

Reappoint Harris Dubrow and Bruce Hasenkamp to the Assessment Appeals Board to terms expiring September 30, 2013.

B)

Reappoint Vincent Muzzi as the Alternate Member to the Assessment Appeals Board to a term expiring September 30, 2013.

BACKGROUND:

In order to equalize the local tax assessment roll, the Assessment Appeals Board is charged with increasing individual assessments after giving notice, lowering individual assessments upon application and hearing public appeals to property tax assessments. Members of this Board must have a minimum of five years professional experience in the State of California as a certified public accountant or public accountant, a licensed real estate broker, an attorney, a property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization, or possess competent knowledge of property appraisal and taxation.

Harris Dubrow has served on the Assessment Appeals Board since January 28, 2003 and wishes to be reappointed to another term.

Bruce Hasenkamp has served on the Assessment Appeals Board since July 1, 2003 and wishes to be reappointed to another term.

Vincent Muzzi has served as an Alternate on the Assessment Appeals Board since August 5, 2003 and wishes to be reappointed to another term.
