RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS DESIGN FOR SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF DESIGN PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, COST ESTIMATES AND CEQA REVIEW FOR THE CRYSTAL SPRINGS REGIONAL TRAIL SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 92 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $23,905 TO $107,184 AND EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH AUGUST 30, 2010
RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
WHEREAS, on July 15, 2008, the County Department of Parks issued a Request for Proposal for services to prepare design plans, specifications, costs estimates and CEQA review for the Crystal Springs Regional Trail South of Highway 92 Improvement Project (“Project”) and selected Harris Design as the Contractor; and
WHEREAS, on September 1, 2008, County Parks entered into a contract with Harris Design for the amount of $79,829 and term of June 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, on November 30, 2008 the parties amended the Agreement to extend the completion period from June 30, 2009 to December 31, 2009; and
WHEREAS, on December 30, 2009 the parties added $3,450 to the Agreement for additional services for a contract amount of $83, 279 and extended the completion date to February 28, 2010; and
WHEREAS, on February 28, 2010 the parties extended the completion date from February 28, 2010 to June 30, 2010; and
WHEREAS, based on feedback from CalTrans, user groups, and the CEQA review process further revisions to the plans are required, including separation of the Project design plans, specifications, and cost estimates into two sets as necessitated by the CalTrans Highway 92 easement constraints; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Agreement to prepare two separate sets of Design Plans and specifications, and Cost Estimates for the Crystal Springs Trail South of Highway 92 with the limits of the two projects divided by the CalTrans Highway 92 Right of Way; and
WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor wish to amend its Agreement for the Project for the purposes stated above to increase the contract amount by $23,905 for a total obligation of $107,184 and extend the term from June 30, 2010 to August 30, 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement with Harris Design for services associated with the development of design plans, specifications, cost estimates and CEQA review for the Crystal Springs Regional Trail South of Highway 92 Improvement Project to increase the amount by $23,905 to $107,184 and extending the term through August 30, 2010 on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest to the President’s signature thereto.
