BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING (A) THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH JOBTRAIN, INC (JOBTRAIN) TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING AND OTHER SERVICES AS A PENINSULAWORKS ONE-STOP CAREER CENTER, THE TERM IS JULY 1, 2010 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013 FOR THE AMOUNT OF $744,000, THERE IS NO NET COUNTY COST AND (B) THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY (HSA) OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on July 1, 2000 the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) with the agreement of the Board of Supervisors appointed JobTrain a One-Stop Operator per Section 121 of the 1998 Workforce Investment Act (WIA); and

 

WHEREAS, the WIB has reappointed JobTrain as a One-Stop Operator to continue to provide structured job workshops and network activities to WIA eligible participants through FY 2013; and

 

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and Resolution, and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A. The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto; and

B. The Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee is hereby authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provision.
